Ubuntu on NBC

Jane Silber posted on the ubuntu-news-team list that Ubuntu could get plugged on US TV Wednesday during a discussion of new notebooks.

Day: Wednesday, 27 August 08
Time: Between 9AM-10AM EST (east coast time)
TV Show: NBC’s The Today Show
Segment: Unknown, but during a discussion of new notebooks.

I recorded it and watched this morning. No mention of Ubuntu all the computers showcased looked to be running Windows (big surprise). The computers featured were two netbooks (mini-notebooks) that looked to be running XP and a Dell Studio desktop. Not even a mention of the OS. The most mentioned was the form factor of the netbooks and Dell..I was looking forward to seeing Ubuntu on TV. :(

Remember, MSNBC is a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC/Universal. So naturally, Microsoft Windows will be pimped on MSNBC and MSNBC.com while Linux is either ignored or smeared.
