Ubuntu PCs for sale in Russia

April 24, 2008

“Linux Ubuntu installation on PCs sold by Excimer and NT Computer is to be launched within the nearest month. Consequently, Ubuntu sales in Russia might reach 300 thousand units. Ubuntu 8.04 released on April 24, 2008 is more likely to be preinstalled.”

Nice.

Which gnome-skin is used at the picture in the article? I think it’s very nice!

Too bad the Russian localization of Ubuntu sucks. Cannot say that Windows is brilliant in this respect, either, but Russian Ubuntu is much worse.

I think it’s a Ubuntu Mobile screenshot there.

But in that article or another, they say that Ubuntu is already being sold by a bunch of smaller vendors and they’ve got 50,000 done so far.

Although chaps on forum.ubuntu.ru probably already know about this :)
