The friendly little Comcast page told me "Your operating system is not supported." (but I thought my interweb could run on Ubuntu!) A few hours later my net connection was back, thanks to some Comcastic magic. I also don't use my @comcast.net email account, and I advise against using ISP email accounts. When your ISP starts giving you nothing but headaches (such as Verizon DSL did to me), it could be a major inconvenience moving everything over to a new domain and alerting all your contacts of the new address.
